Harris & Co. Salon is proud to introduce our newest member to the team Inesa Kopistaite.
Inesa comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and a passion for Blondes and curly hair.
Inesa is available most days and offers early morning appointments and Mondays for those looking to get their day started with fresh hair!
We thought it would be a great idea to get to know Inesa more, so we asked her about her life, interests and hair.
Where are you from?
I was born in the Lithuania small city of Panevezys but grew up in Kaunas second-biggest city in Lithuania.
What are some of your Achievements in hairdressing or life?
The biggest achievement would be moving to Australia and starting from 0 and getting qualified as a hairdresser and getting my permanent residency. And now starting my own carrier independently.
What gives your life joy??
Freedom to create and be creative, my dogs, the ocean, nature traveling, and seeing my sister's family. Good food and sleep.
Why did you get into Hairdressing?
I always wanted to work with art or creativity. wanted to study fashion or graphic design. but back home my parents weren't happy with that and didn't let me go to art school. I loved the beauty industry too it was very interesting to me so I started to do nails and after working as a nail tech I decided to do hairdressing because it looked more versatile and there are so many different ways to do hair so it never gets boring. So I started to do my research on how to become a hairdresser the Lithuanian way didn't suit my lifestyle so I made a decision to go overseas. Also, I was always working with very ambitious inspiring people that made my mind to be more curious and wanting more from my life than just doing what other people wanted me to do.
Who inspires you to stay relevant in our ever-changing industry? I think my clients and the people that I work with. I love to learn new skills and try new ways, and I fear being bored and becoming stale. Havo no inspiration or taste for life. I never could just sit in one spot I always want to do more and try different experiences or at least hear about them. Probably my curiosity is to blame.
What are you most passionate about when it comes to hair?
All new techniques, and make my clients love their hair and feel good about themselves. I just want to do hair and enjoy the process and see my work in the wild. Love cutting and coloring and just being creative in all hair aspects. I can't just do one thing and always want to be better than I was before. Im very passionate about doing my work and doing it great.
What is the mantra you lead your life by?
Be respectful, kind, and true to yourself. Admit if you are wrong and do better but do not let people walk all over you. keep my head high. Minimum drama in my life ;D
How do you think we as Hairdressers influence or inspire the community?
in my opinion, we teach people to love themselves more and accept who they are in their looks and all around. We inspire them to see beauty in a different way that beauty is not just a standard commercial beauty. Everyone is different and unique in their own way and that is ok
